Job overview:
Join AXA UK as a key leader in our financial operations, where you'll oversee AXA Health's payments, collections, and banking activities, ensuring they are executed accurately, promptly, and in full compliance. You'll lead a large, dynamic team supported by an offshore team, maintaining the financial integrity and reconciliation of all banking and treasury activities, including cash flow management and the investment of surplus funds. You'll drive process improvements and implement industry best practices to optimise efficiency and strengthen risk management within a complex data and systems environment. Additionally, you'll develop and nurture strong relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and banking partners, playing a vital role in supporting the financial stability and strategic growth of AXA Health.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead a high-performing finance operations team, fostering performance, innovation, development, training, and wellbeing.
• Manage bank mandates and ensure strict compliance with banking protocols.
• Oversee treasury cash flow and liquidity management to ensure availability of funds.
• Monitor and accurately allocate premiums and claims within systems, ensuring proper processing and accounting.
• Support audit processes related to banking, premiums, and claims, maintaining strong controls.
• Regularly reconcile bank and control accounts to uphold financial accuracy.
• Manage claims recoveries, uncashed cheques, and BACS rejections to reduce delays.
• Handle large data volumes and complex systems efficiently, developing automated solutions where possible.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. Your skills & experience:
• Qualified or part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
• Proven experience managing an operational finance team within insurance, financial services, or banking.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, cash flow management, and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively with large, complex data sets and systems.
• Track record of leading process improvements and simplifying operations.
• Deep knowledge of financial controls, risk management, and compliance.
• Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
