Job overview:
As a Finance Business Partner, you'll be a vital part of our team, providing financial guidance and management information that helps our business units succeed. Your role is to support strategic growth initiatives, keep a close eye on financial performance, and help shape decisions that impact our business. You'll work with key stakeholders at all levels, ensuring our financial strategies align with our overall goals.
What you'll be doing:
• Collaborate with business units to give financial advice and support growth plans
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and keep forecasts updated throughout the year
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance to help teams make smarter decisions
• Prepare accurate management reports like monthly financial statements, deal tracking, and profitability analysis
• Evaluate deal performance, advise on commercial terms, and identify risks and opportunities
• Support strategic initiatives by reviewing business cases and tracking their progress
• Stay engaged with stakeholders to understand market trends and influence performance positively
• Improve reporting processes through automation and better workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Play a key role in month-end activities, reviewing performance versus targets, and flagging risks or opportunities
• Foster a collaborative environment within the finance team and promote a culture of high performance
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Your skills & experience:
• ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of the financial aspects of the general insurance business
• Experience working closely with business teams and demonstrating commercial awareness
• Confidence in working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
• Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, charts, and automation tools
• Knowledge of Anaplan and Power BI is a plus, along with MS Access/database experience
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
• A proactive and collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and stakeholders
