Finance Business Partner 18 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Commercial Finance and Pricing Team has a new opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join them on a fixed term basis.

As one of our Finance Business Partners you will work closely with the Head of Commercial Finance and Pricing to facilitate the firms drive towards profitable growth across various practice groups and sectors. Your responsibilities will include engaging with senior business leaders to bolster strategic financial planning and delivering insightful analysis that aligns with Osborne Clarke's strategic aims. Further, you will enhance the firm's pricing support proficiency by ensuring compliance with the pricing policy, assisting with bids and client profitability analysis, and continuous development of our commercial training programme.

This is an 18 month FTC position, based out of our Bristol office with travel to our Reading and London offices as needed.

What you'll do

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be a key figure in driving financial performance and pricing support within the UK practice groups and sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver robust financial business partnering to UK practice groups and sectors to enhance financial performance.
  • Engage proactively with senior leadership to drive stakeholder engagement and support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Operations Directors, HR, and Marketing to provide comprehensive cross-functional operational support.
  • Work closely with BD and partners to ensure pitch responses are profitable and commercially sound.
  • Apply professional expertise to offer deep insights into the commercial context of the firm.
  • Assist in developing financial metrics and tools to support financial reporting, profitability growth, pricing strategies, and innovation.
  • Automate and streamline existing financial reporting processes, ensuring adaptability to stakeholder needs.
  • Develop and conduct commercial finance training programs across Osborne Clarke to enhance financial acumen.

What we are looking for

You will need at least 3 years' experience, with a proven track record, working as a Finance Business Partner, or similar role within FP&A. You will ideally be qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and come from a legal or professional services background, however, this is not a prerequisite.

You'll also need to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience in a complex business environment, with a strong grasp of business strategy and commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • The ability to write insightful financial and commercial commentaries based upon sound financial management
  • Proven ability to build and develop strong relationships within the business, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance people.
  • Confidence to influence and challenge business decisions where appropriate.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience in manipulating complex data sets and creating financial models.
