Description

About AXA:

AXA is a global leader in insurance and financial services, dedicated to helping customers protect what matters most to them. As the sixth-largest insurance company in the world, we provide a wide range of services, including health, car, home, and business insurance. We support millions of customers worldwide, helping them navigate life's uncertainties with confidence.

AXA Global Healthcare offers global healthcare support and protection to individuals and businesses in more than 200 countries, building on over 55 years of experience through its international hubs.

Job overview:

We're looking for a detail-oriented Expense Analyst to join AXA Global Healthcare. In this role, you'll monitor, analyse, and manage company expenses to help drive cost efficiency and support our financial planning. Working closely with different departments, you'll review expense data, support month-end closing, challenge spending patterns, and identify opportunities for savings. You'll also ensure all activities are in line with company policies and accounting standards, playing a key part in maintaining financial discipline across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process by processing journals, accruals, and prepayments, and providing assistance to cost centre managers.
• Participate in month-end review sessions with the Finance Expense Partner to agree on the close position and review expenses on a cost centre basis.
• Assist in calculating deferred acquisition costs and claims handling reserves, ensuring they are recorded accurately according to accounting standards.
• Analyse expense data across departments to identify trends, variances, and potential savings opportunities.
• Support budget and forecast input in Anaplan, helping cost centre managers with administrative updates and ensuring accurate data entry.
• Develop and improve expense reporting and forecasting processes, including supporting Anaplan capability and conducting audits to identify errors or potential fraud.
• Build relationships within the wider finance team and with key stakeholders to ensure a seamless and collaborative service.
• Provide technical support for expense accounting treatments, ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, and assist during external audits.
Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

We know that some candidates may be discouraged from applying if they don't meet every requirement. If you're excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you're not sure you tick every box, we'd still encourage you to apply.

Your skills & experience:

• Experience working in a finance function, with knowledge of financial reporting or expense management.
• Studying towards an accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or experience in a financial analyst role.
• Proficient in Excel; knowledge of Anaplan is desirable.
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to meet tight deadlines.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
