We arelooking for an Associate to join our highly regarded Employment team in Bristol,where we are ranked in the top tier by The Legal 500 and Chambers &Partners and have been for more than 20 years.

Youwould be joining one of the leading and largest Employment teams in the UK, with the opportunity to provideadvice on aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law bothnationwide and internationally. Thepractice

Theteam provides a full service to clients in the UK and internationally includingadvice on HR support and employment matters, employee disputes, acrossadvisory, employment litigation and corporate transaction services. The teamalso works closely with our Incentives, Business Immigration, Pensions andHealth & Safety practices. TUPE and general transactional advice, both inthe UK and managing projects internationally

ExceptionalTechnological Support

Theteam works closely with our dedicated and industry recognised Osborne ClarkeSolutions team to be at the cutting edge of harnessing legal tech and AI.

International

Wehave extensive experience in European international employment law matters(being able to call on employment lawyers in our offices in nine otherjurisdictions26 international locations), allowing us to represent trulyinternational clients. Our team also has experience of managing cross-borderemployment projects and our lawyers have the opportunity to take part in ourinternational secondment programme. on redundancy programs, Covid-19 responses,general employment advice and employment issues involving trade unions andemployee representatives, which includes advising on collective bargaining andindustrial action disputes.

ComplexWork

Theteam is also well known for their work on complex issues such as restructuring,restrictive covenant work, reputational risk management and data privacy. Weoperate across a variety of sectors and are regarded as one of the 'go-to'firms across the financial services, telecoms, technology, recruitment, retailand media & advertising sectors.

Wework for a fantastic range of leading clients such as Vodafone, Diageo RalphLauren, NomuraHargreaves Lansdowne, PwC,Deckers, Motorola, Mamas & Papas and Air CanadaWestern Power Distribution,Eurostar, United Airlines and Standard Chartered Bank. It's an exciting timefor the team having recently celebrated a major client win, adding Diageo totheir impressive client base.

Theteam is truly "full service" and has strength and depth in many areasincluding: Employment Tribunals (one of the team is an Employment Judge); TUPE(we represent one of the World's largest professional service firms on TUPEmatters); industrial relations (our team has recently been involved with theCentral Arbitration Committee and regularly advises on trade union andindustrial action issues).

Theteam

The Bristol team is madeup of 4 Partners, 2 Legal Directors, 2 Associate Directors, 2 SeniorAssociates, 5 Associates, 1 Trainee Solicitor and 1 Solicitor Apprentice.

Technical skills and experience

Due tothe technical nature of the practice, we are looking for evidence of a strongacademic record and training. In addition, we are looking for commercial acumenand an ability to provide pragmatic advice across a fast moving case load As aguide, due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, we arelooking to appoint an Associate in this area, although we will considercandidates with more or less experience.
