Delivery Lead

Please note you must live in the jurisdiction for the business to which you are contracted.

This job can be done anywhere in Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration. Exact frequency to be agreed with manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to the supplier led agile squads (and shared services).
  • Track and deliver features to the agreed budget and sprint plan / PI plan and achieve a low risk, repeatable, transition into service.
  • Works with Factory Lead and the Agile Demand Manager to shape and estimate demand for the Factory as described by the change portfolio and business
  • Works with Group Change colleagues to lead the synchronised squads to drive value and incremental delivery within the wider business programmes
  • Supports the production of cost forecasts, maintain and improves accurate estimation tools and reports the overall Factory delivery budget
  • Accountable for the leadership of between 4-8 squads and ensuring the delivery of value as per the agreed backlog and in line with the PI which support the wider programmes
  • Leads the internal and customer facing governance and performance reporting for their synchronised squad delivery teams
  • Works with the Agile Management Office to manage central shared services provided to the factory such as; 3rdparty resource on-boarding, project stage-gate management and financial reporting
  • Provides overall day to day delivery leadership including decision making with the supplier management team and delivery squads across multi channels
  • Reports relevant agile metrics to continually drive high quality delivery for the squads and drives improvement into the process supported by the data
  • Contributes to the organisation transformation efforts to drive an agility mind set
  • Works with multi vendors to ensure full stack developers across multi-channel engineering field
  • Owns and drives the Software Configuration Management plan across multiple squads ensuring effective adoption of SCM, continuous integration and dev/ops processing
  • Supports the team in a transition to continuous delivery driving automation of build, deployment and test
  • Provides recommendations and assist in determining which feature/projects to prioritise and make trade-off between technical debt and new functionality

What will make you stand out:

  • Technical experience of the end to end SDLC including (on-premise and cloud hosting); waterfall & agile methodologies, dev/ops processes, management of solution design and development teams, automation tooling, code management and environment services
  • Experience leading engineering teams with a steadfast focus on delivering business value
  • Experience of Agile governance, operating models and partner management in a large complex Financial Services environment
  • Experience of managing code into production and service management
  • Management experience within a complex business environment where there are substantial numbers of non-direct reports and multiple 3rd party suppliers

Desirable qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of IT Industry standard methodology in Agile software delivery
  • Understanding of the delivery risks faced by IT delivery and the controls in place to manage & mitigate these risks
  • Credibility and confidence working at senior levels in the organisation, including C-suite executives
