Decision Modelling Senior Analyst

What is the opportunity?

This is a fantastic opportunityto work in an exciting and fast paced environment alongside a team of experienced modelling specialists!

You will gain great exposure to a wide range of the Bank's Retail & SME portfolios (both in the UK and RoI) and work on all stages of the model lifecycle covering development, calibration, model use and monitoring.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development of operational credit risk models & strategies throughout the Retail Divisions
  • Support regular reviews of existing model calibrations and associated cut-off strategies
  • Complete quarterly monitoring of models and present results to key stakeholders
  • Support independent validations of the models
  • Ensure that all relevant policies, procedures and standards are adhered to throughout development
  • Ensure appropriate senior Business representatives are fully engaged throughout the development process with the aim of enhancing understanding/awareness

What will make you stand out?

We are seeking someone with experience working within a Credit Risk, Model Risk or Modelling environment who has excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

You will have a proven track record of managing information and data in an accurate, diligent and critical manner alongside the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and results to a wide non-specialist audience including Senior Management

Experience of statistical analysis packages including SAS is a must!

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role;

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to Decision Model management
  • Excellent organisational / Project Management skills

Essential Qualifications

Undergraduate degree with a statistical, mathematical or numerical element or relevant experience

More about the team

Credit Risk models and strategies are used extensively throughout the RoI & UK Retail Divisions. Models and strategies are used to drive lending decisions, account management options, determine IRB capital requirements and IFRS9 Expected Credit Losses.

The IRB & Credit Risk Models team are responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of these models and strategies using advanced analytical techniques. This leads to better customer outcomes, higher automation and the safeguarding of the Bank's Credit Risk profile.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the UK with the primary office location as Bristol. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - frequency to be agreed with manager (typically once a week).
