We're seeking a talented and motivated Data Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Data Platform team. At AXA, we're on a mission to build a cutting-edge data platform that empowers diverse teams of Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, AI Experts, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists. Our data platform is the backbone of our data-driven strategies, and you'll be key to ensure it runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:

• Establish, manage, and optimise our data platform estate in Azure, focusing on the principles of an Azure well architected framework.
• Proactively monitor data platform infrastructure, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
• Partner with data professionals to ensure the analytics platform meets the needs of a modern analytics framework supporting advanced analytics and machine learning models.
• Work with the team to monitor budgets and optimise costs, ensuring financial operations align with business goals.
• Develop and maintain data metric solutions to enhance platform observability and governance controls.
• Collaborate with security operations and cloud engineering to align on platform best practises and group standards.
• Provide support for data platform incidents, coordinating with business when needed.

What you'll bring:

• Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Azure, DevOps, and Databricks with an understanding of PowerBI.
• Good understanding of Azure AD, IAM Security, and cloud networking services.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines adhering to DevSecOps principles.
• Strong Bicep and Terraform expertise with IaaC best practices and reusable module design.
• Solid understanding of Databricks Unity Catalog and the Medallion Framework.
• Ability to use automation scripts like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams to design, implement, and advise on data platform strategies.
• Previous experience in Insurance or Financial Services is advantageous.
