".. seasoned industry experts, with a significant depth and breadth of experience." - Chambers & Partners
We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly regarded and growing Corporate team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected and market leading team, known for having an entrepreneurial outlook and approach, and work on high value and strategically important projects both nationally and internationally.
The practice
We advise at every stage of a company's development across the full spectrum of corporate issues, partnering businesses as they expand through equity and debt fundraisings, joint ventures, acquisition and IPO. We also advise on the establishment of compliant and efficient governance structures.
We have a strong sector focus in various spheres, but in Technology, Media and Communications (TMC) and marketing services it is fair to say that we are the go-to firm. We regularly advise on transactions with a deal value in excess of £100m, and have acted on many landmark deals in the space.
Along with TMC, our other key sector-focuses include Financial Services (with particular expertise in private equity and venture capital for market leading clients such as Kester, Waterland, Synova and LDC), Real Estate & Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, Life Sciences and Retail. These focuses enable us to understand the markets our clients operate in and the issues they are facing.
The team
The London Corporate team is led by Alistair Francis (Partner) and is made up of 16 further Partners, 4 Associate Directors, 17 Senior Associates, 11 Associates, 4 Trainee Solicitors and up to 3 Paralegals. Spanning all three of our UK based offices, the Corporate department is made up of over 100 lawyers in total.
The role
Your work will include:
- Supporting the lawyers across the London Corporate team with administration tasks
- Document filings
- Assisting in post-completion matters
- Preparing and reviewing forms and documents including companies house filings, board minutes, powers of attorney, stock transfer forms and shareholder registers
- Legal research
Technical Skills and Experience
Previous experience of working as a paralegal within a Corporate department is advantageous, but this is not a pre-requisite.
In addition, you will:
- Have the ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrating prioritisation skills;
- Demonstrate attention to detail;
- Be able to competently produce and format letters and documents;
- Be a competent user of various computer packages, Outlook, Word, Excel; and
- Be a confident user of a document management system such as Worksite.
