Consumer Duty Programme Manager / Director

What is the opportunity?

BOI seek a talented Programme Manager/Director to manage and lead the key remaining elements of the UK Consumer Duty programme, a regulatory programme with the objective of ensuring that the best interests of the customer are put front and centre of everything the bank does.

Location - successful candidate can be based in Belfast, Bristol or London.

Please note this is a 9 month position.

In this role, you will:

Planning and Delivery:

Manage and support the ongoing development, tracking and delivery of a prioritised plan of activity, spanning the following key areas:

Tracking and monitoring of all centralised activities :

  • Centralised tracking and reporting of all communications changes and customer journey enhancements
  • Manage and develop business wide responses to FCA requests and publications as required

Delivery of software solutions:

  • Manage the delivery of a digitised Product Governance Solution and other software as required
  • Lead discussions and negotiations with 3rdparties to agree contracts and work orders
  • Define plans, timelines and resource requirements to successfully deliver the planned solutions.

Consolidation of planning, reporting and governance

  • Lead the development of a consolidated, updated centralised view of all CD plan activities to support regular and clear reporting through governance.
  • Manage the tracking and reporting against the key embeddedness criteria across the business areas
  • Lead the regular reporting of progress against the plan to SteerCo, Exco and Board.
  • Working with Heads of Business and Consumer Duty business team, lead the delivery to full transition into BAU and programme closure.l
  • Manage performance of the team and team members against the planned work.

Monitoring & Control

  • Ensure, with business lead and team members, that a clear, up to date set of RAIDs is maintained for the programme.
  • Ensure risks and mitigation plans are in place, understood and escalated as required.
  • Ensure that issues requiring steering decisions or actions are progressed in a timely manner to avoid delays or re-work.
  • Ensure costs related to the programme are understood and, working with Finance, managed through the relevant forums.

What will make you stand out?

  • Strong knowledge of Financial Services, with a background in regulation, regulatory change and change at Bank of Ireland - experience of Consumer Duty a distinct advantage.
  • Strong leadership skills along with strong Business Acumen and problem solving skills
  • Pro-active and engaging Stakeholder/Relationship Management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including Board level papers and presentation experience
  • Innovative thinker and agile mindset
  • Clear thought leadership and ability to lead and direct resources
  • Demonstrable ability to provide clear, unambiguous reporting to all areas of the bank
  • Credibility and confidence working at senior levels in the organisation
  • Demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proactive and flexible approach; ability to work effectively with multiple priorities in parallel
