Job overview:
We're seeking an experienced Compliance and Conduct Lead to join our UK Risk and Compliance team. You'll provide expert advice and challenge to business stakeholders, supporting the Head of Compliance and Conduct. Working with the AXA Health team, you'll influence first-line colleagues to achieve strong conduct and compliance outcomes. You'll also collaborate with second-line Risk and Compliance teams to develop frameworks and policies that meet regulatory standards and support positive customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide expert, solution focused advice on FCA regulations to influence senior Health leaders and embed a strong compliance and conduct culture.
• Collaborate with AXA UK Compliance to ensure a consistent approach across teams and represent compliance at key committees and forums.
• Develop and maintain a senior stakeholder network to promote understanding and recognition as a thought leader in compliance and conduct matters.
• Support the delivery of the compliance and conduct plan, ensuring alignment with business strategy, regulatory expectations, and customer outcomes.
• Lead and support monitoring, incident management, and escalation processes to identify, investigate, and remediate compliance issues promptly.
• Assist in preparing reports, regulatory submissions, and communication to regulators, senior leadership, and the Board.
• Support the team and business by providing guidance, coaching, and driving initiatives.
• Ensure policies and frameworks align with regulatory standards and support the wider AXA UK Risk and Compliance strategy.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. Your skills & experience:
• Strong knowledge of General Insurance and Private Medical Insurance across all business lines.
• Extensive experience in regulatory compliance and conduct risk management.
• Proven ability to prioritise, identify solutions, and address complex problems effectively.
• Deep understanding of FCA/PRA rules, guidance, and regulatory practices.
• Experience in leading, motivating, and influencing high performing teams.
• Skilled at engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including Board and Executive teams.
• Experience participating in FCA supervision activities and direct regulatory engagement.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
Please be aware that this position is a Certified Function role under the SM&CR regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
