Job overview:
We're recruiting a Claims Investigator based in the Cambridgeshire area. You'll be part of AXA's in-house investigations team, who work across AXA's Commercial and Retail business areas. You'll frequently travel in and around Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Leicestershire regions, with potential to go surrounding areas. You'll visit offices and client sites as well as individuals, sometimes at short notice. There may also be the occasional requirement to travel further afield in the UK, although this is kept to a minimum. We provide a company car or cash equivalent, along with a company laptop and company mobile phone.
Key responsibilities:
• Investigate Employer's Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) and Motor Personal Injury (PI) claims on behalf of AXA.
• Frequently visit sites and customer locations, in addition to working from your desk at home with limited operational support.
• Represent AXA in face to face meetings with policyholders, brokers and other witnesses, providing technically accurate and helpful advice.
• Interview instructed parties in person or by telephone, including policyholders, drivers, witnesses, police, or other relevant parties. Obtain detailed, signed Construction Products Regulation (CPR) statements in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures.
• Attend accident scenes and provide factual locus reports with findings.
• Undertake various ad-hoc field intelligence enquiries, often self-motivated and provide factual reports with findings.
• Compile and submit comprehensive final reports.
• Involvement in projects and initiatives with the opportunity to lead on internal change programmes.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, this role is a field-based role meaning you'll travel to visit offices or client sites as required.
Working hours & shift pattern:
You'll work full time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There may be some unsociable hours but as you'll arrange your own appointments, you're empowered to do what it takes to meet customer expectation whilst managing your own work life balance.
Your skills & experience:
• Experience of handling or knowledge of Employer's Liability, Public Liability, Motor Personal Injury and Casualty claims is essential.
• Evidence of handling or knowledge of Motor Injury and anti-fraud investigations is needed.
• A full UK driving license is required due to travel involved.
• Demonstratable knowledge of the claims process, reserving and assessment methods.
• Awareness of broker and affinity environment and the importance of these relationships.
• Sound knowledge of legal processes and recent experience of investigation and negotiation.
• Proactive approach to claims investigation and negotiation.
• Working towards or holding an industry recognised qualification e.g. level 3 award for Professional Investigators (QCF) or equivalent, or the CII professional qualification.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
