Claims Assessor - Income Protection Claims

What is the opportunity?

This is an excellent opportunity to work in an interesting, passionate and rewarding role. You will be working directly with our customers and interacting daily with members of both internal and external functions.

In this role, you will:

  • Assessing new claims and deciding on medical and financial requirements
  • Calculating the claim benefits owed to our customers, and handling the ongoing payment of these benefits
  • Reviewing existing claims to ensure the terms for ongoing payment to our customers continues to be met
  • Corresponding with Brokers, Employers, Customers and Doctors.
  • Developing a high level of technical and medical expertise.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships within various internal Business Divisions.

What will make you stand out?

You have a proven track record in a Life Assurance company with a strong passion for helping people and an understanding of the risk claims process. A highly-organised and self-motivated individual with an ability to prioritise effectively, working both independently and a part of a team. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail. You also have an interest in working in a medically-based, technical function.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in a Life Assurance Company, preferably in a claims or underwriting environmentand
  • Diploma in Life and Disability Claims (DLDC) or the CII Diploma in Life and Disability Underwriting (DLDU) or
  • QFA Qualification or
  • Accredited Product Adviser (Life Assurance)

More about the team

The Income Protection Claims Team assesses and pays all claims arising from the Company's Individual and Group Life Assurance policies. Each year the team is proud to make payments in excess of €120 million to our customers. The Income Protection claims assessors manage a portfolio of Claims from both our Individual and Corporate Customers. Due to recent new business growth, especially in the Group Risk area, the team is expanding and it now pays approximately 1200 claims to our customers each month.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in person collaboration exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
