Business Cutover Lead

What is the opportunity?

Opportunity to be part of a programme which in 2025 will launch a brand-new payroll, expenses and core HR system to all colleagues. The functionality of the system will make it easier for colleagues and people managers to self serve and over time will evolve into a simple, one stop shop for all colleagues' HR needs

In keeping with the Group strategy of 'Simpler Business' we are also taking this opportunity to see if there are further opportunities to transform how we deliver people services to the Group by simplifying our ways of working, building a future ready workforce and creating a differentiated colleague experience.

*This is a 12 month fixed term contract*

In this role, you will:

  • Responsibility for the overall cutover plan for Phase1 (Payroll, Expenses and Core HR), ensuring that all business and technology cutover activities are planned, resourced and executed ensuring a smooth transition from old to new world.
  • Working with the Technology Cutover Lead
  • Identify and mitigate/managing risks on the Cutover plan, and taking appropriate actions to resolve
  • Identifying key dependencies on the cutover plan and Working closely with all workstream leads and business change and readiness to ensure these are delivered on time.
  • Ensuring that each People Services capability across all systems and processes can be delivered post transition.
  • Ability to understand and document a detailed backout plan.
  • Ownership for the successful run and test of the cutover plan for rollout of Phase 1 (Payroll, Expenses, Core Hr) during pilot.
  • Working with the Business Readiness Lead, support in the identification, design and development of the relevant change and readiness interventions to support key partners and colleagues as they transition to the Edson 'end state' vision
  • Prepare and implement Cutover governance (including reporting)
  • Work with Bank Technology leads on technical cutover for non SAP components
  • Define readiness criteria for Go/No Go including decision process

  • Knowledge of change management concepts with previous delivery experience of application of these concepts an advantage

  • A great teammate who is not afraid to "roll up the sleeves" and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn
  • Understanding of the delivery risks faced by the change and readiness work stream and the controls required to manage & mitigate these risks.
  • Excellent partner management skills, conveying the progress of the plan to senior partners

More about the team

The Connect Programme has been set up by the People Services Division to simplify Bank of Ireland's HR capabilities. It is a multi-year transformation programme which includes the replacement of the existing HRIS (SAP) solutions. SAP SuccessFactors has been selected as the Platform of choice and the Edson Team will partner with Deloitte to design, build and deploy (including integrations) the new system.

The transformation, while triggered by implementation of a new HR system, is broader than systems replacement. Overall it aims to eliminate common pain-points, simplify ways of working and create an engaging colleague proposition.
