Business Analyst

Osborne Clarke are looking to add to their Change & Transformation team with an exciting new Business Analyst opportunity in our Bristol office.
This role will involve providing professional analysis support to Osborne Clarke and Business Services, ensuring our clients receive consistently excellent services. You will promote a culture of mutual understanding through effective communication across the OC business as a whole.

This is a permanent position offering hybrid working.

The role

The Business Analyst will be responsible for business analysis activities, reporting to the Business Analyst Manager. The successful candidate will understand and document the context of project requests, the needs of the business, and the benefits targeted.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Requirements Gathering: Elicit requirements using interviews, workshops, use cases, scenarios, and other techniques.
  • Documentation: Document business requirements and ensure they are prioritised by the business and signed off.
  • Liaison: Act as the voice of the business, be the liaison point between the business and supplier teams.
  • Translation: Translate business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Process Mapping: Capture the 'as is' state and 'to be' using a variety of tools.
  • Acceptance Criteria: Document acceptance criteria.
  • Business Case Support: Support the sponsor in their development of a business case, ensuring costs and benefits are clearly defined.
  • Vendor Selection: Support the vendor selection process, including inputting into RFPs, assessing the outcome of tenders against requirements.
  • Documentation Creation: Support the creation of project, business, and user documentation to enable the delivery of the associated business objectives and outcomes.
  • Data-Driven Recommendations: Provide data-driven recommendations to support decision-making processes.
  • Testing Support: Support the production of test scripts and standard operating procedures to ensure they meet the business and functional requirements.

We are looking for

  • A recognised Business Analysis qualification.
  • Experience using different tools and applications for analysing and capturing requirements and visual representation of process maps, particularly Microsoft Excel, DevOps, and Visio.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to a range of activities and audiences, including senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of the end-to-end project life cycle and associated BA tools and skillsets (from requirements gathering through to solution development, process/workflow mapping through to embedding of associated benefits).
  • An effective team player with experience of working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • A track record in solving problems and driving quality outputs to land continuous improvement/business analysis change.
  • A track record for personally delivering business outcomes, including providing innovative solutions to complex business problems/opportunities underpinned by business analysis activities.
  • Professional curiosity to seek out answers and challenge the thinking of others.
