Your new role
Reporting to our UK Building Services Science sector leader you will contribute to the delivery of sustainable, net zero carbon, innovative and high- quality design solutions. To succeed in this role, you must be confident facing clients and have excellent working knowledge for the delivery of science projects as well as their MEP building services installations. Candidates should have Chartered status. Are you our new London region science leader?
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Market our multi-discipline capability via networking, business to business meetings, seminars, thought leadership and general business development
- Manage your own projects to meet financial targets
- Manage clients to generate repeat business
- Oversee design work from concept through to detailed design ensuring technical excellence, maintaining outstanding levels of client service at all times
- Attract talented recruits to grow a skilled, dynamic, efficient and highly regarded Science Team
- Liaise and interact with other UK Building Services teams to optimize workload and capacity
- Lead Science bids, produce high quality fee proposals and manage commercial risk
The team has a deep focus on technical delivery and client care. You will be an important part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of project work of national significance. We offer a supporting and collaborative culture and environment, in which you can develop and grow in your role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for client liaison, business development and delivery of advisory and design solutions to the science sector, focussing mainly on London opportunities but also on national and international ones where aligned to our strategy. The successful candidate will have a portfolio of completed science projects that include speculative science developments for commercial clients, HE institutes and experience of Tenant fit out. Additionally, knowledge of other subsectors of science including bio-containment, clean room design, GMP and close-control environments would be very attractive to us.

We are looking for like-minded and personable people to join and strengthen our team. As such we are looking for someone with the following:
- A proven track record for your core discipline and a working knowledge of complimentary disciplines
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- Membership of CIBSE, IMechE or IET
- To be a Chartered Engineer
- To have excellent project management skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects of varying size/complexity
- To have a demonstrable understanding of project commercial and technical risks
