Job overview:
We're looking for a dedicated Head of Strategy to lead our strategic planning efforts here at AXA Health. In this role, you'll oversee a range of important projects that support the company's overall goals. Responsible for identifying opportunities to improve our market position, increase profitability and build a competitive edge by analysing both external and internal factors. Key responsibilities:
• Facilitate identifying new strategic choices, exploration of these and once decided upon: prioritising new strategic themes
• Conduct strategic/ Market studies on priority themes and opportunities. Undertake MI analysis to ensure that the business is kept up to date on market and competitor dynamics, and that information, recommendations and reports are accurate. Provide analytical interpretation and robust challenge to leadership teams to support, steer and influence strategic thought processes.
• Manage all M&A activity and Lead strategic M&A Team. Manage confidentiality, compliance and audit requirements.
• Ensure individual strategies and strategic agenda are cohesive transparent, understood and well communicated to wider stakeholders and employees
• Provide support to AXA Health CEO/ FD in evaluating miscellaneous issues. Build and maintain these strong, trusted and effective relationships with key stakeholders in the UK and Group to ensure close integration with all aspects of strategy development across the business. Proactively manage the Group relationship, ensuring open communication and sharing.
• Strategic Planning - manage the annual process to review, refine and outline the long-term business strategy by working closely with key stakeholders and strategy leads to deliver outputs. Ensure it meets requirements of all stakeholders (e.g. CEO, Group, Board, ExCom) and is both compelling and compliant.
• Drive the development and monitoring of overarching AXA Health strategy, plans and targets. Ensure individual business plans are transparent and relevant in market context. Research, identify and provide recommendations to the Executive teams on the strategic direction of the business as appropriate.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Your skills & experience:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Experience of working in a consultancy or in house Strategy role.
• Proven ability to deliver results whilst dealing with ambiguity.
• Demonstrated stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence board level stakeholders of large businesses within matrix management structure.
• Good understanding of the commercial and marketing environments and able to clearly connect the impact of your strategic recommendations.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Proven analytical skills with demonstrable eye for detail.
• Ability to make compelling and considered recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to think laterally.
• Experience of cross-functional working and matrix management.
• Delivery focused and with a keen eye on realising positive results.
• Flexible approach to working, energetic and versatile.
• Effective team player and co-ordinator of people.
• Builds capability and seeks to continuously improve oneself and others.
• At ease in an international work environment.

• Knowledge of the financial services sector, Health specific is desirable.
• Knowledge of consumer, digital, regulatory and technological trends.
• Knowledge and understanding of political influences and world markets.
• Understanding of AXA Group and UK&I structure, markets, customers and stakeholders.
