Agile Coach

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced Agile Coach to join our Data Solutions team!

This is a fantastic opportunity to guide and coach data solutions delivery teams (business and technical) on Agile principles, practices, and methodologies, and ensure the successful delivery of Data projects. You will work closely with our Agile Practices Lead to drive continuous improvement and cultivate an Agile mindset within the organisation.

In this role, you will:

  • Coach Scrum Masters and delivery teams on Agile principles and practices to enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Guide the teams to use Bank of Ireland's Scaled Agile Framework and Agile practices and values.
  • Teach, lead, co-lead or support activities where required in Value Stream roll out and events, Program Increment (big room) planning and standard Agile ceremonies.
  • Provide training and support to team members on Agile tools and techniques.
  • Support and guide our individuals, teams, and organisations in using our tooling (Atlassian Suite - Jira, Confluence and EazyBI)
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the organisation.

What will make you stand out?

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of Agile including Scrum, Kanban, as well as other key Lean Agile practices. A deep understanding of Scaled Agile principles and prior engagements in supporting highly distributed teams in transformation is essential. You will have industry experience within a technology environment and have experience in coaching teams who are new to agile ways of working.

You will also have experience with agile collaboration tooling, knowledge of current software development technologies and practices and experience implementing either SAFe or Disciplined Agile at Enterprise or Value Stream level in an organisation.

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out for this role:

  • Experienced Jira user - knowledge of JQL, how to structure a query, custom searches, create & configure Scrum & Kanban boards, set up projects, knowledge of workflows, Jira metrics, integration with Confluence.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Proven experience working as a Agile Coach in a software development or IT environment.
  • Certified Scrum (CSM) or equivalent Agile certifications.

Data Solutions within the Group Data and Analytics Office functions to enable Bank of Ireland to exploit data assets across the enterprise to drive incremental value to the organization. This is achieved through greater collaboration, a focus on building holistic data-specific capabilities through a product management approach and increasing execution agility through modern ways of working and delegated decision-making.

This job can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration.
Exact frequency to be agreed with manager. Please note you must live in the jurisdiction for the business to which you are contracted.
