Salary - competitive dependent on experience

Hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

Holiday - 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 28 days)

About the Accounts Manager role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Manager in our Croydon office. We value work-life balance and welcome applicants who seek a 4-day work week or other flexible working arrangements.

We are looking for a pro-active and positive individual who can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience into the team. This role will focus on managing a portfolio of mixed clients while ensuring exceptional service delivery, and helping manage the office to free up our Partner to further support the growth of the business.

Key responsibilities of an Accounts Manager will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients while ensuring excellent client service
  • Assisting in the management of the office and supporting junior team members
  • Creating and improving process notes to assist with efficient bookkeeping and accounts preparation by other team members
  • Reviewing year-end accounts for limited companies
  • Supporting the team with workflow management and technology solutions
  • Reviewing VAT returns and preparing management accounts
  • Providing ad-hoc support to clients and the Partner

This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make an impact without the pressure of pursuing promotions. You will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the office, allowing our Partner to focus on expanding the business.

About you -

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience within accountancy practice
  • A good standard of accounting and tax knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships
  • Experience in managing client portfolios and team development
  • Proficient in MS Office and accounting systems (CCH, Xero)
  • Experience in using Fathom
  • Positive, solutions-based approach and ability to work flexibly
