Overview
The Corner provides support and treatment to young people under 18 in the Sheffield area who are experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol. We also provide advice and information to family members and significant others who may be worried about or affected by a young person's substance misuse.
Responsibilities
As local community promoting the service and offering support and advice in a caring non-judgemental approach. Your responsibilities will include providing drop-in sessions for young people across various settings, including schools, colleges, homeless shelters, and housing accommodations, offering advice and guidance to young people in need.
No two days are the same and you can really make a difference in helping to keep people safe. You will be provided with all the skills, training, and support to undertake the role. Supporting young people is really rewarding and you can make a real difference to somebody's life. This is the perfect role for a sociable and outgoing person who wants to help their community.

Where: Sheffield city centre, at the office and operational sites in the local community.
When: We will work with you to be as flexible as possible, whether you can donate one day a week of your time or 3days+. The core activity of this role occurs during the day (9:00am - 5:00pm) and evenings (5:00pm-7:30pm).
Volunteer Expenses: Travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed as per CGL volunteer policy.
- Build positive relationships with the young people we support
- Support in providing confidential, easily accessible and non-judgmental advice around substance misuse to the people we support in community 'drop in' sessions
- Assist in the promotion of the service to young people, their families and partner agencies and other professionals
- Support young people with signposting and referrals
- Keep accurate records of interactions, including any referrals made
