We are seeking a Year Manager to provide strong pastoral leadership for an assigned year group, working closely with the Key Stage Leader to drive excellent behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, inclusion and personal development.
What you'll do:
• Act as the first point of pastoral leadership for students, supporting behaviour, wellbeing, attendance and safeguarding
• Work proactively with vulnerable students, including SEND, LAC, young carers and those with mental health needs
• Play a key role in safeguarding practice, working closely with the DSL team and maintaining accurate records via CPOMS
• Lead and support attendance improvement, recognising attendance as a safeguarding priority
• Use data intelligently to identify trends, plan interventions and evaluate impact
• Maintain a visible presence across the school day, modelling calm routines, transitions and positive conduct
• Work collaboratively within Student Services and year teams to ensure consistent, high-quality pastoral practice
• Build strong relationships with students, families and external agencies
What we're looking for:
• Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral or student-facing capacity
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Sound judgement, resilience and professionalism in challenging situations
• Confidence using Office 365 and working with student data
• A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
