This is an initial 6 month contract, based in Bath.
Purpose of the job:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Workspace Project Manager to lead a strategic review and optimisation of our office spaces across our Bath campus. This pivotal role will be responsible for evaluating our current workspace usage, proposing a strategic plan to enhance efficiency, and overseeing the relocation of teams, refurbishments, and any necessary office movement from start to finish.
Working closely with our CEO and senior leadership, the Workspace Project Manager will deliver a clear, actionable proposal that balances operational needs, employee experience, and cost-effectiveness. Then manage the successful implementation of the agreed plan on time, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
- Workspace Strategy & Planning
- Assess current office space usage across all Bath campus locations.
- Identify opportunities for improving workspace efficiency and team co-location.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop a compelling proposal and vision for future space utilisation.
- Project Management
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan including key milestones, budgets, and timelines.
- Oversee all stages of office moves, closures, and refurbishments.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and facilities management to ensure seamless execution.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with key stakeholders including department heads, HR, IT, and Facilities to understand requirements and communicate project updates.
- Present findings and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.
- Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during transitions.
- Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage project budgets and cost estimates.
- Track and report on expenditures to ensure projects are delivered on budget.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all office moves and refurbishments comply with health & safety, accessibility, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks or delays.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have / be:
- Proven experience in workspace or facilities project management, preferably within a multi-site or campus environment.
- Strong ability to manage complex projects from concept through to completion.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working directly with senior executives.
- Proficiency in budgeting, planning tools, and reporting.
- Knowledge of office design, fit-outs, and change management is desirable.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail.
