The role is based in a Delivery Station where we handle a rapid turnover of goods, picking, packing and shipping products.
As a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Regional Manager, you are responsible for the occupational safety department at our Delivery Station and lead a team. You work closely with local management to continuously improve local occupational health and safety standards and coordinate the implementation of internal company and legal requirements for occupational health and safety.
Key job responsibilities
You will be managing key aspects of output: people management, metrics, productivity targets, and process improvements. The extent of your duties will include:
- Managing Health and Safety and employee satisfaction at your Delivery Stations, including supervising employee well-being and productivity
- Proactively collaborating on Health and Safety projects, across 20 + UK-based sites
- Providing guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders, especially on those relating to your designated area of responsibility
- Review and audit arrangements for Health & Safety management, while continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate
- Plan and strategize work systems around reducing Health and Safety risks, e.g. recommending suitable adaptations to machinery and processes
- Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety statistics
- Provide management with information and statistics related to your area of responsibility
- Support business change, via effective change management processes in the context of your Delivery Stations' fast-paced environment
- Drive behavioral culture change programs, across a large, complex, multi-shift operation
- Implement and review Amazon's global safety policies, ensuring that local legislative requirements are also met.
A day in the life
Travel Component (Approx 50% of working week):
- Site visits across regional network
- Floor walks and safety observations
- Direct engagement with operations teams
- On-site incident investigations
- Face-to-face meetings with site leadership
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree, or equivalent level of qualification in-line with the European Qualifications Framework (EFQ), in the Occupational Safety field
- Alternatively, a NEBOSH Diploma or an IOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety is required
- Relevant experience managing a team
- Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
- Strong customer orientation
If you do not currently hold the NEBOSH Diploma, Amazon may require you to complete this qualification as part of our internal upskilling program in order to aid your career development.

- Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies
- Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
- Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management
