As a Work Area Manager, you will work in a busy mail centre and be responsible for managing operations in a variety of manual and automated areas within the plant.
The role
Leading a dedicated team of up to 30 + fulland part time employees, plus agency staff, you will hold regular one to one and team meetings and review the area's performance and plans on a daily basis. You will have line management responsibility for your team's sick absence, attendance, training all whilst engaging with the team to drive performance.
Health and safety initiatives, increasing efficiency, and identifying areas of improvements will be essential to your role. Supporting the Shift Manager, you will provide a high quality of service to our customers and ensure all operational targets are met.
Skills and experience
As this is an extremely interesting and varied role, we are looking for candidates who are flexible, can work under pressure and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. As part of the management team within the business, you must demonstrate evidence on your CV of the following:
- Managing and supporting a large team to maximise performance (essential)
- People skills, good communication skills, able to engage and motivate team members to work to high standards.
- Target focused with a track record of improving performance and achieving KPIs.
- Experience of introducing change/improvements and successfully leading people through change.
- Data analysis and problem solving - ability to use data to identify trends in performance and then develop solutions/make improvements.
- Relationships, able to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve business benefits.
- Experience from a logistics/parcel distribution background would be beneficial.
Attendance pattern
Tuesday to Saturday, 06:00 - 14:12. A degree of flexibility is required to meet operational requirements
