Summary of Role Purpose:

In order to support the growth of our capabilities within the Customer, Operations and Infrastructure Financial Services (CO&I FS) team - aligned to the Wealth & Asset Management sector, we are currently looking to recruit Senior Managers who can make a significant contribution by combining an understanding of the Wealth & Asset Management industry with transformation, reorganisation and optimisation capabilities.

You will be a Senior Manager within our CO&I FS Ops team aligned to WAM Consulting and will be helping both grow our business and ensure our teams deliver high quality advice to clients. You should expect to be involved in a wide range of challenging client engagements across the WAM value chain for clients from across the ecosystem.

As a Senior Manager you will be expected to lead on the delivery of key client work items such as leading delivery of programmes or being responsible for building KPMG IP.

It is also expected that you will lead and manage more junior members of the KPMG team as part of project delivery. You will be an example to more junior members of staff who will look to you for advice, guidance and development support.

As a Senior Manager it is likely that you will also be required to support Directors and Partners with business development activity such as helping with proposition development, proposals, RFP responses and pipeline management.

In addition to supporting the build out of the client proposition for CO&I Ops, you will also be expected to support the development of the practice in a broader sense, such as through the development and nurturing of junior talent, training, internal communications and contribution to the positive culture and supportive working environment.

The role will be based in London but may include travel; candidates must have a willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally on occasions, with the potential to be away from home for short, set periods of time.

Description of the role:

Successful candidates will operate as integral parts of the CO&I FS Ops team to deliver the following:

  • Leading and delivering on client engagements to support Target Operating Model (re)design and implementation in the Wealth & Asset Management sector
  • Performing diagnostic analysis, through applying analytical techniques on large operational transformation engagements.
  • Facilitating client workshops to scope and design transformational solutions.
  • Managing workstreams through all of the key stages of a transformation project, from diagnostic to implementation.
  • Providing Programme/Project Management support, including production of reporting, RAID management, and general PMO tasks
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating risks and issues throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Developing and continually improving solutions, methodologies and tools to deliver consistent world class operating excellence capability.
  • Contributing capability experience to proposition development and to proposals / bids.

Role dimensions:

Leadership & Management:

Senior Managers can expect to be responsible for their own projects and be responsible for the planning, delivery and risk management for their scope of work. They will also have additional management and leadership responsibility for more junior colleagues.

Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:

Senior Managers will interact with the broader team on a regular basis. There will be continuous and direct client engagement including senior stakeholders at C-suite levels.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

Senior Managers will operate in our CO&I FS Ops service line but will have reach into the wider Wealth & Asset Management Consulting practice across our service lines.

The Person:

Essential experience

We expect that you will have:

  • Professional experience in Wealth and Asset management consulting
  • Experience of delivering large multi-disciplinary Target Operating Model design and implementation programmes within the Wealth and Asset Management Sector, preferably working with leading Front-Middle and Back Office technology platforms including but not limited to BLK Aladdin, CRD/CRPM, eFront, Allvue etc
  • Good understanding of the full WAM value chain - either from within a fund manager, a fund administrator/asset servicer or another management consultancy firm
  • Understanding of Private Markets related workflows (private equity, private credit, real assets) is beneficial
  • Good understanding of the operational and technological challenges associated with WAM businesses
  • Proven expertise in Project Management and delivery of projects on time, within scope and of high quality
  • Ability to develop excellent relationships both internally and with clients at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to analyse problems, identify core issues and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Proven ability to lead work at sustained levels of high intensity and inspire drive and confidence in others.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), negotiation and project management skills
  • A genuine interest and desire to work in the WAM sector and a strong desire to develop knowledge and skill sets
  • An ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive working environment which respects and recognises all members of the team
  • Experience in vendor selections or technology implementations
