We currently have a Water Loss Team Manager position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Bodmin. Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,000 - £38,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

About the role

As the Water Loss Team Manager you will be responsible for leading and performance managing a team of multi-skilled leakage technicians and field analyst within the operational area and ensuring the promotion and prioritisation of detected leaks is achieved at a high standard.

What you'll be doing:

    • Ensure health and safety policies, standards and procedures are adhered to at all times
    • Provide support, inspiration and technical expertise to South West Water (SWW) and contracted leakage detection
    • Manage the deployment of available water loss resources (both SWW and contracted) to detect, pinpoint and promote leakage for repair within the DMA estate through close liaison with the Water Loss & Control Delivery Manager
    • Work in close collaboration with the Field Team Analyst to ensure areas and resources deployed on acoustic lift and shift logging are efficiency deployed and the work basket of generated points of interest are targeted effectively with leakage technicians
    • Work in close collaboration with operational area network services alliance managers / planners / schedulers to ensure leak repairs are prioritised for repair appropriately and dry holes are investigated effectively and efficiently
    • Manage annual leave, sickness, disciplinary and other related business policies / processes consistency and accurately
    • Educate, promote and encourage leakage technicians to undertake investigations into unaccounted for water in addition to traditional leakage detection activity
    • Ensure Leakage Technicians provide the partner repair contractor with all necessary information to ensure network leak repairs are undertaken effectively
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards and procedures at all times.

What we are looking for:

    • Participation in DWS DFM Standby Rota.
    • Recognised Management Qualification is desirable
    • Experience in developing a team to high performance levels and leading the team to achieving challenging targets
    • A practical understanding of Management Systems
    • Ability to manage and motivate resources to deliver desired business outcomes
    • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage at individual level and across functions
