What you'll be doing:
- Implement and enforce strict waste segregation protocols, ensuring all materials are correctly separated into designated containers according to classification (hazardous, non-hazardous, recyclable, clinical waste)
- Monitor waste volumes and coordinate with contractors to schedule timely collections, while maintaining compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards
- Conduct routine compliance inspections of waste storage areas and handling procedures, identifying non-conformities and reporting issues to management
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including waste transfer notes, consignment notes, and regulatory paperwork in accordance with legal requirements
- Respond promptly to spills and incidents involving waste materials, following emergency procedures to contain situations and minimize environmental impact
What we're looking for:
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects and work extended periods standing/walking in various environmental conditions including outdoor elements
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Ability to work safely with various waste materials including chemical and biological waste, with strict adherence to PPE requirements
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with contractors, cleaning teams, and site personnel on waste management matters
- Willingness to complete mandatory training including FM Waste Management Operative Training Toolkit, manual handling, traffic management, and spill response certification
