Carbon60 are looking for a Waste Collection Operations Manager to join a client of ours operating in Clacton - on - Sea. Our client are the UK leader in Environmental Solutions. This Waste Collection Operations Manager is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary, performance bonus, pension, and other company benefits.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
What you'll be doing;
- To manage the refuse and recycling collections teams, circa 100 direct reports, along with the street cleansing service operators in a cost effective manner.
- Ensuring that all services delivered by the contract operate in line with company policies, procedures, compliance and legislation requirements and customer satisfaction levels.
- Manage the fleet and drivers to ensure legal compliance and reduce damage and defects.
- Responsible for ensuring that your business unit/depot are legally and environmentally compliant at all times and that all planning and permitting conditions (where applicable) are strictly adhered to.
- Responsible for compiling weekly and monthly statistical reports for the Contract Manager and Corporate Services, including attendance and missed collections.
- Support the Contract Manager in delivering budgeted profit, operational excellence and safety measures for your individual business unit/depot.
- Working in partnership with the client to resolve all contractual issues, to ensure that the company brand is maximised and protected in the public domain.
- Using the Echo system to report on performance, managing echo usage; ensuring adequate and efficient management of data obtained from the system.
- Support the Contract Manager in delivering a safety culture that ensures that accident reporting is closed within one month and accidents are reduced.
What we're looking for;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in waste or transport environment - essential.
- CPC in Road Haulage & a valid UK driving licence - essential.
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- Experience within municipal waste services.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
- IOSH and COTC (where required).
