Job Description

We're looking for you to join us as a senior Warehouse Planning and Capacity Manager, leading on Inbound Planning, Resource Planning and Capacity Planning across our multi-customer site (The Web, Rockingham).Reporting into our General Manager,you'll lead our site planning functions by providing a full service to our operational teams to ensure that our site runs at optimum level to provide great service to our customers.

You'll play a crucial part in our success, ensuring we plan new item layouts, warehouse space capacity and optimisation, whilst also ensuring we are fulfilling the right colleague resource to meet customer requirements.As we plan for new start ups and excel in BAU delivery, you'll be responsible for ensuring the right processes, policies and resources are embedded for best-in-class safety but also excelling customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the leadership and running of the Planning and Capacity department on site, working closely with other team members and departments across all customers.
  • Engage with customers regarding volume forecasts, inbound/volume requirements, planned peaks, new line requirements and ensuring that stock is available to pick in the right allocated locations.
  • Develop, integrate and have full awareness of site capacities and the impact of locating stock to support both automation and manual picking (working closely with Facilities Manager).
  • Effectively manage the agile planning of the operational colleague labour pool, ensuring rotas match operational needs at all times and that all sections have sufficient coverage.
  • Ensure that the department is effective, efficient and supports the ongoing operations to consistently meet the customer's requirements in terms of service, budgeted financial goals and other KPI's.
  • Working closely with key customer personnel to identify growth opportunities within current network to support further business growth.
  • Production of internal/external reports, showcasing to various stakeholders at all levels.
  • Management of automation capacity, stock levels and resources required.
  • Identify and evaluate optimisation projects, solution design in line with planning and capacity.

What will you bring to our team?

  • Excellent warehouse operations planning/capacity leadership experience within a fast-paced environment, with proven experience in both accuracy and high productivity.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of primary logistic and proven positive accountability for stock management.
  • Strong understanding and experience in Manhatten warehouse management systems (WMS), and how to optimise product and people flow to support setting up best in class operations.
  • Experience of working in a fully or semi-automated warehouse environment, problem solving and CI opportunities within this.
  • Good knowledge of structured problem solving tools and methodologies.
  • Motivational leader, self-starting, with an enthusiastic approach to leading, developing and coaching others.
  • Be able to demonstrate a clear commercial understanding and provide budgetary and financial controls and be able to operate effectively in both open and closed book environments.
