Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + up to 10% bonus per annum

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to play a key role in assessing complex building projects and ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards. What you'll be doing
As a Technical Operations Engineer, you'll be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of professional engineers and surveyors, responsible for assessing Building Control and warranty applications across a wide variety of residential and mixed-use schemes.
You'll provide professional engineering risk management advice on civil, structural, and geotechnical issues related to properties covered by NHBC warranties. Additionally, you'll collaborate with developers, architects, and builders, offering site support, conducting forensic investigations, liaising with customers, and providing repair solutions for Buildmark claims. This role combines technical expertise with client-focused service, making a significant impact on the industry.
- Checking submitted site investigation reports, drawings, specifications, structural calculations, and design details for compliance with Building Regulations and warranty standards.
- Negotiating with developers, builders, and their professional advisors to ensure proposals are satisfactory in relation to Building Control, warranty, and land quality and comply with relevant regulations/NHBC Standards.
- On live claims, undertaking/arranging forensic investigations, reporting on findings, preparing solutions for remedial work schemes, issuing and reviewing tenders, assessing costs, and undertaking site inspections.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
- Has, or is working towards, Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution, e.g., ICE/IStructE.
- Substantial relevant experience working in building/construction and a great understanding of the new housing and commercial sectors.
- Broad range of knowledge and understanding of all aspects of superstructure, foundation, and geotechnical design with regard to building structures with a proven track record.
- Excellent communication skills are key, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to present information to a variety of stakeholders, including homeowners with claims.
- Is excited by a varied and challenging role and demonstrates a drive for excellence and a strong team player.
- Requires a full driving license.
