About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will ensure that the warehouse facility runs smoothly and efficiently to support excellent customer service. Having exceptional communication and leadership skills, you will successfully lead and develop the warehouse team whilst collaborating with the rest of the business to ensure that the flow of orders and stock fulfils customer requirements. Being a keen problem solver, you will thrive on making improvements to processes and workflows to maximise warehouse performance in a fast paced environment.
Main duties include:
- Responsibility for warehouse despatch, goods receiving functions and ensuring that all orders are picked and despatched in accordance to customers / OCUK requirements.
- Management of warehouse staff, performance, Health and Safety compliance.
- Working closely with HR on staffing requirements, overtime, temporary staff, training requirements, H&S, staff wellbeing and disciplinary / grievance issues.
- Foster a positive, safety conscious culture, whilst ensuring that rules, policies and procedures are being followed consistently.
- Security of stock, equipment and site.
- Liaison with key stakeholders regarding progress, stock queries, etc
- Ensure that key performance indicators are met.
- Ensure that all dispatches and receipts are processed on time, with priority to customer satisfaction.
- Allocation of adequate resources to business needs (goods in, goods out, systems) and adjust rotas accordingly.
- Provide cover for deputy and supervisors in their absence.
- Oversee pallet usage, container booking, export shipments, insurance and PI checks
- Monitor the use of packaging materials for suitability and value, keeping waste to a minimum, and source alternatives where necessary.
- Key holder for site - open and closing of site when required.
Essential
- Previous warehouse management experience
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills
- Working knowledge of warehouse Health and Safety regulations
- Proven problem solving ability
- Working knowledge of WMS/ ERP systems
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to lead and inspire your team for excellence and continuous improvement
Desirable
- Forklift experience / licence - VNA, PPT, Counterbalance
- Health and Safety or relevant management qualification
