Job overview
As the Band 7 Midwife, you'll be at the heart of ensuring the safety and well-being of women, babies, and their families, while creating a positive and supportive experience for all. You'll provide strong, compassionate leadership, managing and inspiring your team to deliver the very best care.
Your role goes beyond clinical expertise-you'll take ownership of specific areas within the Maternity Service, ensuring systems and processes are in place to provide safe, effective, and seamless care. By working closely with your team and across all areas of maternity, you'll help shape a service that truly makes a difference in the lives of those we support.
Main duties of the job
Ensure effective communication with multi professional / multi agency teams. Promote and maintain effective working relationships with maternity services providers across the MSE.
Ensure effective and transparent communication with patients, relatives, carers and staff, taking into consideration level of understanding, culture and background.
Raise and escalate concerns appropriately regarding quality and patient safety.
Respond to informal and formal complaints by patients, relatives or carers in the course of day-to-day duties, in line with local policy and procedures and escalate concerns you are unable to resolve to an appropriate person.
