The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Ward Manager with the possession of a strong clinical knowledge base to manage Clwyd Ward. Clwyd Ward is a 20 bedded medical ward specialising in Elderly Care. You will be working closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and offering support to families, which is a key role in ensuring the best possible care is given to the patients on this ward. Main duties of the job

This post requires motivation, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and demonstration of evidence based clinical practice. The candidate should also be a qualified mentor with recognised mentor qualifications and a proven history of providing supervision to junior staff, be motivated and enthusiastic about your own professional development and open to undertaking further academic qualifications. You must be flexible, approachable, compassionate, motivated, hardworking and be able to use your own initiative whilst also having the ability to work under pressure.
You must possess excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills and demonstrate a keen interest in Elderly Care and Dementia Care. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate and sustain new and innovative ways of working which facilitate developments in nursing practice as well as being self-motivated and committed to improving service delivery with a flexible approach to the needs of the service. We expect you to be dedicated with a positive attitude and ability to provide patients an excellent service.

You will receive support in your new role and will be encouraged in further development. You will gain experience in directly leading and managing staff with clear guidelines and goals.   • 1 st Level Nurse
  • NMC Registration
  • Evidence of a Degree level qualification or working towards this within an agreed time frame.
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Holds or is actively working towards a relevant Postgraduate Diploma, Diploma to be completed within an agreed timeframe.

Desirable criteria

  • Recognised Management qualification
  • Evidence of Masters level study
