Walter Scott Client Investment Manager

The successful candidate will join the Client Investment Management team in Edinburgh that support the firm's Distribution Partners which are in Australia, Japan, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, the UK, Europe, the US and Canada.

The role requires specialist knowledge of global equity investing, a detailed understanding and affinity to Walter Scott's investment approach, and the aptitude to clearly articulate portfolio performance, activity and positioning.

The successful candidate will possess strong presentational skills and the ability to interact confidently with wide variety of client types, from institutional to intermediary. There will be the requirement for global travel, and to represent the firm in a range of different forums. There will be the occasional participation in panel sessions, podcasts, videos, and such like. There will also be the requirement to engage in business development initiatives, often in conjunction with representatives of our Distribution Partners.

Candidates must have sound inter-personal skills, and be able to show evidence of working effectively in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities include:-

  • To support the business by contributing to client service, consultant relations and business development.
  • To work with key stakeholders to improve the overall client service offering /client experience thus building trust, deepening relationships and encouraging client retention.
  • To co-ordinate and or contribute to various activities and initiatives within the client service team that ultimately improve the quality and efficiency of our client service delivery

Academic/Professional Qualifications (or equivalent):

  • University degree or equivalent (preferred)
  • IMC - (preferred) or Chartered Status - CFA (not essential)
