Opportunity for a senior market facing role to manage the overall relationship with key Intermediaries for Moody's Investors Service (MIS) in the EMEA region - banks and private equity firms. Responsible for the development and execution of a dedicated outreach strategy to key rating advisory teams and private equity/credit firms across EMEA. Key objective is maximising the impact of intermediary relationships for MIS.

Reporting line:

This position reports to the SVP-RM, Head of Leveraged Finance and Intermediaries, EMEA Commercial Group

Scope:

  • Managing relationships with Tier 1 Intermediary banks and private equity firms in EMEA.
  • Plan and execute a strategic outreach plan to target banks and private equity firms.
  • Communication of MIS value proposition, product and pricing policies to Intermediaries
  • Conduit for two-way information flow between the MIS Commercial Group and Intermediaries
  • Acting as first point of contact for Intermediary feedback to key stakeholders within MIS.
  • Expand MIS Commercial reach into Debt Syndicate, Debt Origination and ESG advisory and arranging functions
  • Facilitate appropriate engagement with Intermediaries for analytical teams.
  • Expect to spend minimum of 30% of time meeting intermediaries, particularly in London/Paris.
  • Coordinate with North America, LatAm and APAC counterparts to inform global view of Intermediary relationships and strategic engagement plans.
  • Provide active support to the LBO and RAS Desks on transaction execution
  • Support relationship managers in Business Development across EMEA
  • Support EMEA Business Coordinators and Specialists with Intermediaries.
  • Act as RM for selected [UK & Ireland] Issuer relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Senior individual contributor
  • Expertise in EMEA debt capital markets
  • Credit expertise and ability to demonstrate knowledge of MIS corporate finance methodologies
  • Experience in sales and marketing
  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Excellent written and spoken English essential; additional European languages desirable.
  • Undergraduate / First Level degree (or equivalent) required
  • Masters or CFA desirable

Requirements:

  • Independently maintain active relationships with Intermediaries at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively chair several meetings daily with different Intermediaries and customers
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and organisational skills
  • Ability to articulate and explain Moody's value proposition, products and services.
  • Evidence of ability to cross-sell and negotiate pricing, contracts and renewals
  • Ability to take ownership of developing and executing strategy
  • Able to understand and navigate complex structures of banks and private equity firms.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to manage conflicting objectives.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Team player, able to work effectively with a geographically diverse and multi-cultural team.
