POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regional Director of Human Resources (HR) - EMEA & Americas, based at the corporate office in London, is responsible for overseeing the HR operations across multiple hotel properties within the EMEA and Americas region. This role focuses on developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the overall business objectives while fostering a positive, high-performing work environment across the region. The Regional Director works in close collaboration with HR leaders at individual hotel properties and the corporate HR team to drive a culture of excellence, diversity, and employee engagement. Additionally, this position ensures that all properties remain compliant with local, state, and federal regulations. Though not directly responsible for any single property, the Regional Director provides strategic oversight and guidance to property HR teams to ensure consistent execution of HR best practices across the region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement regional HR strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to property HR leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor and analyse HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs.
- Leading regional projects in line with the global HR strategy.
Talent Acquisition and Management
- Collaborate with the Director of Talent Acquisition and oversee the recruitment and selection process for key positions within the region - Property Excom and above.
- Collaborate with the Director of L&D and implement talent management programs, including performance management, succession planning, and career development.
- Ensure a robust onboarding process for property Excom and above new hires to integrate them into the company culture effectively.
Employee Relations and Engagement
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and programs.
- Address employee concerns and grievances, manage all feedback received on Speak up in a timely and effective manner.
- Manage employee satisfaction surveys cycle and develop action plans based on feedback.
- Conduct monthly regional HR meetings and regular one on one`s with each HR leader.
- Collaborate with the MD and General Manager on all employee matters.
Training and Development
- Identify training needs in collaboration with the Director of L&D and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Manage leadership development programs to build a pipeline of future leaders within the region.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements and certifications in each jurisdiction.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Manage and implement HR policies and procedures that meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of HR practices and records to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Support the property teams with legal advice through collaboration with local legal counsel.
Compensation and Benefits
- Collaborate with the Director of Compensation & Benefits to oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs within the region.
- Support hotels to conduct market analyses to ensure competitive compensation and benefits offerings.
- Support the annual salary review and bonus processes.
HR Operations and Administration
- Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of HR services to all properties within the region.
- Oversee the maintenance of HR records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Utilize HR technology and systems to streamline HR processes and improve service delivery.
New Opening Support
- Working with MD - New Opening and GM, set up and lead the HR function for a new hotel prior to its opening.
- Support the Director of Talent Acquisition in recruiting and onboarding key employees.
- Ensure HR policies, procedure and practices are compliant with local law and aligned to Aman Group business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry
- Previous work experience in EMEA and the Americas
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region as required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite
- The role may involve working outside of regular business hours to address urgent HR matters
- The Regional Director of HR will work from a regional office, but frequent site visits to properties are essential
