Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Specific Tasks

Under supervision and guidance from the placement supervisor(s) to perform the following tasks-
• Be happy to help cut up patient's food and support their feeding on a one to one basis.
• Helping with recreational activities of all kinds, such as crossword puzzles, games and creative work.
• Befriending patients by talking to them or reading to them, e.g. newspaper
• Accompanying a patient around for a walk or exercise
• Willing to help with any other general tasks on the ward to assist patients

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Applicant must have at least one years experience of working with or caring for someone with Dementia/Azheimer's

communication

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Essential criteria

  • Be able to interact with our acute Dementia/Azheimer's patients in a confidential and friendly way.
