Volunteer Placements
Job information
If you have already agreed a volunteer placement with Newport City Council, please complete the following onboarding form which captures the essential information to allow us to record your volunteer placement.

You will also be required to complete some mandatory training which is included as part of this application process. There are some volunteering opportunities which may be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Your placement manager will confirm if you require a DBS check for your placement.

If you have not already agreed a volunteer placement and would like to consider volunteering, the Council work with a range of partners across the city to provide volunteer opportunities. Details of these services and their contact details are available on our main volunteering page. Alternatively contact human.resources@newport.gov.uk with your contact details and areas in which you are interested in volunteering.

Newport City Council is committed to working towards its workforce being more representative of the population we serve, and particularly encourages applications from under-represented individuals including disabled individuals, BAME and LGBT+ communities.

We welcome applications for volunteering opportunities in Welsh or English.
