Volunteer Complementary Therapist
This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
Overview
Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live.
Last year over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of million hours of their time to our organisation.
Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers, and make a real difference?
For more than 15 years, Complementary Therapies - including Acupuncture, Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology and Shiatsu - have been on offer to clients at some drug and alcohol services. For those service users who are making a genuine effort to change their lives, a course of 6-12 sessions can play a significant role in their recovery process by supporting their well-being and self-esteem.
As a volunteer practitioner, you would typically come to the service for for a morning or afternoon per week, to offer 2-3 scheduled sessions. Like all staff, you will be offered training. And as part of a larger multidisciplinary team, you will be broadening your experience. You will liaise with the Complementary Therapy Coordinator about appointments and for regular supervision. You will need to have your own professional indemnity insurance. Travel expenses can be reimbursed.
Please note that the application process involves a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).
