Salary: Band 10, £48,132 - £52,491
Location: Agile, Ponteland Police Station and homeworking
Hours/Contract: 37 hours per week, permanent. This role can include out of hours work as / when required.

The role
Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Digital Department as a Voice Services Manager.
As a Voice Services Manager you will manage the teams who support the provision of Digital Communications hardware, software, radio services and technical support, to ensure operational availability of communication equipment.
What you'll do
- Assist the End User Services Manager in developing a Communications strategy to support the delivery of effective and efficient communications technology across operational and back office policing services.
- Ensure the effective delivery of and subsequent 2nd and 3rd line support of the department's Communication services, consisting of a 999/101 telephony solution, force wide telephony services, mobile phone services and police radio services required by the force to function effectively and efficiently.
- Manage supplier contracts to ensure effective services are delivered at the agreed service levels and that new or renewal contracts are in place at the appropriate time.
- Take the lead role in the design, specification, procurement, and implementation of appropriately secure and resilient communications systems and services.
- Liaise with the architecture team to develop operational standards and procedures in relation to Communications products and services whilst leading the team to ensure the use of these standards and procedures supports compliance with Service Management guidelines and that the performance of the systems meet Service Level Agreements.
- You will be responsible for the secure storage and management of digital assets, including cryptographic material and sensitive digital information ensuring the integrity and security of our digital operations.

What you'll bring
- Current knowledge of telephony systems technology that underpins the delivery of the force's critical 999 and 101 telephony services.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Itil 3 or 4 and the optimisation of IT processes.
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Experience of managing a 2nd line support function ideally in an operational environment.
- Supplier management experience, being able to demonstrate how you have held suppliers to deliver contractually agreed service.
- Experience of using an ITSM tool.
- Experience of managing significant budgets in support of the delivery of effective Digital Policing services.
- Experience of managing and developing technical staff in the delivery of effective Digital Policing services.

Terms of appointment
This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period.
