Visual Merchandising Manager - Fashion (Mat Cover)

Job Introduction

As a Visual Merchandising Manager, you will own and drives world class VM in your area, delivering excellence daily with a hands on approach and flexible management style. Covering volume to luxury products, this role owns relationships with partners across the business, as well as brands, contractors and suppliers. You will ensure great working practices within this fast paced and often challenging environment.

As Visual Merchandising Manager you will:

  • Understand and develop a brief into a practical solution that is deliverable both within budget and timeframe
  • Plan a project from concept to delivery, whilst managing and delivering the day to day
  • Manage and lead your team giving regular feedback and coaching. Recognising both talent and development areas, you will create unique plans to progress your team using the tools available
  • Deliver clear, consistent and prompt communication with both team members and stakeholders, Responding to and resolving situations as they arise
  • Create and ensure a cohesive shopping experience for our customers by understanding and ensuring correct product and brand adjacencies, as well as the fixturing layout, in line with department and store vision
  • Knowledgeable of the unique elements to every brand you will interpret this into visual display, presenting product to suit different needs, e.g luxury and volume (towels and bedlinen to cupcakes) in a Selfridges way
  • Ensure that your department is fully compliant at all times with trading standards legislation, health & safety legislation and security standards

A bit about you:

  • Experienced. You bring your passion for all things creative as well as a background in creative arts / VM to expertly manage a team working with a diversity of brands and products
  • Commercially astute. You have experience in a high sales and volume business, able to balance and plan to budget constraints whilst retaining creative flair
  • A great communicator. You understand the need to build relationships and maintain consistently good communication with key partners and stakeholders Engaging with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders across various functions in order to drive change
  • Naturally pragmatic and solutions orientated. You are calm under pressure and can give clear guidance
  • A natural leader. Coaching team members to drive performance & enable change as well as supporting development
  • A team player. Bringing ideas and sharing best practice, whilst supporting others as appropriate
  • Collaborative. Working flexibly as part of the management team you will support in projects and cross functional meetings as appropriate
