Uncrewed Surface Vessel Manager

Rovco is investing in and deploying Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USV's) as a force multiplier to deliver more cost-efficient and technology-driven services to the offshore wind Industry.

Reporting to the Site Characterisation Business Unit Director, As the USV Manager you will be responsible for the safe and successful development and delivery of projects using USV solutions and to ensure the highest quality data and commercial performance during those projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will drive innovation and development of Offshore and Nearshore USV solutions, identifying and incorporating industry game changing technologies that drives efficiency and differentiation for Rovco
  • Partner with stakeholders and our through our in-house machine learning and data solutions teams to develop USV solutions.
  • Ensure the company is kept fully briefed and up to date with all USV staff training needs and also to ensure that all regulatory and licensing aspect are adhered to.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things USV and provide technical support and solutions creation to complex tenders and client opportunities.
  • Implementation of Offshore technology enabled USV solutions that drive added value to both Rovco and our customers.
  • Successful delivery of projects that significantly improve offshore productivity by use of our USV fleet, and therefore increase profitability.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across the organisation.
  • Meet strategic goals and pave the way for a transition to fully remote and autonomous solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practice in USV operations.
  • Implement and maintain a robust safety management system for USV operations.
  • Support the recruitment of USV Operators and Engineers to meet operational project needs and business growth.
  • Assist in the development of Rovco's Remote Operations Centre and support in the design and roll out of the next generation USV's.
  • Support Business Development and Tendering Teams with USV technology and methodology.
  • Attend conferences and seminars related to the subject matter to provide insight and stay ahead of industry needs.

You should apply if you have:

  • Proven track record of significant experience in USV operations, preferably within the Offshore Renewables / Energy Industry.
  • Excellent understanding of legislative and regulatory aspect of maritime operation of remote and autonomous craft.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building and maintaining a safety-culture across all operations.
  • Background in Hydrographic Survey and Geophysical technology is an advantage, including technical knowledge of both towed and hull mounted sensors.
  • Working knowledge and experience of marine / vessel operations.
  • The ability to stay current with emerging technology trends and their relevance to the business' product and service offering and by extension the way we manage projects.
  • Qualification in Surveying, Geophysics or related disciplines is an advantage; experience and background will carry more importance.
  • Experience and knowledge of marine satellite communications.
