Sales Manager - Automotive Retail
Location: Croydon
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Basic Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
On-Target Earnings (OTE): £56,000 - £64,000
Working Hours: 45 hours per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Saturday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Every other Sunday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Day off in the week: Thursday
- Includes weekends
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to lead our automotive sales team in Croydon. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with a passion for sales, customer service, and team development to make a significant impact within a forward-thinking dealership environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in automotive sales leadership, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to achieving business targets and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Performance:
Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to consistently exceed performance targets and deliver a premium customer experience.
- Customer Engagement:
Drive high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring all digital and in-person enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
- Operational Management:
Oversee daily showroom operations, ensuring all administrative processes (e.g. profit and loss reporting, stock allocation, vehicle call-offs) are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Team Development:
Recruit, train, and mentor team members to support both individual career growth and overall business performance.
- Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure adherence to FCA guidelines and internal compliance standards, while managing forecasts, KPIs, and reporting to senior management and manufacturer partners.
- Brand Standards & Presentation:
Maintain a high standard of showroom presentation, ensuring all vehicles and marketing materials align with brand expectations.
- Sales Meetings & Strategy:
Lead engaging and informative daily meetings to energise the team, share updates on new vehicles, offers, and campaigns, and reinforce performance priorities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience in an automotive sales management role (Retail Manager, Business Manager or Sales Controller considered)
- Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Commercial acumen with a results-driven approach
- Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills
- A full UK driving licence
