Reporting to the Unified Communications manager and working closely with other internal UK and NSE support teams, the primary focus of the roll is to provide onsite maintenance and support for Deloitte's Meeting Room technology (including Phone devices) and being the onsite SME responsible for ensuring the office connectivity and experience for the end user is always available, stable and high quality.

You will provide technical expertise in the configuration and implementation of relevant technical areas and support this business-critical service, acting as subject matter and escalation point to our onsite IT teams and working closely with other third line teams - networks, events, onsite.

The Unified Communications Engineer role will have responsibility for:

  • Pro-active meeting room support - ensuing the meeting space is online and operational using both remote monitoring tools and onsite testing.
  • Analyse, troubleshoot and resolve voice & video call quality problems from the Deloitte offices. Escalating and working in conjunction with our Network teams where required.
  • Taking the lead in single and multi-user Call Quality issues, troubleshooting using tools across platforms.
  • Management, deployment, and maintenance of the Office Phone Device estate (CCX). Ensuring key devices remain online, patched, and operational.
  • Re-active meeting room support - Managing requests and incidents that come into the UC Service Now queue, be the escalation point to our onsite and 3rd line resolver Teams.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex AV problems with an understanding of AV cabling and connectivity technologies
  • Creation of regular proactive quality and usage reports relating to the RTC platforms - ensuring these are fit to be shared with a senior audience.
  • Supporting the ITS event team to help set up and support Town Hall and other Webinar based events.
  • Working on other remote UC support tasks and projects when required, to assist other members of the UC RTC team.

Essential skills

  • Experience administrating, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Teams Room Systems on Windows and Android
  • Experience of administrating, maintaining, and supporting MS Teams Phone Devices (CCX / VVX)
  • Experience managing M365 and MS Teams, with deep understanding UC based architecture relating to voice and real time media.
  • Proven history of troubleshooting network and office-based call quality issues - deep understanding of the ports, protocols and paths that real time media navigates in an office environment.
  • Good understanding of basic IT device support on Windows, Mac and Mobile devices
  • Ability to create pro-active and re-active reports, owning CSI and problems until resolution.
  • Active Directory and Azure AD experience
  • Ability to Own, Investigate, Troubleshoot and Resolve Operational Issues

Desirable skills

  • Proficient knowledge of MS teams and Zoom Webinar and Events
  • Experience with digital whiteboard and Surface Hub technologies
  • Experience of Zoom Architecture and operational understanding
  • Experience of Room booking systems integrated with MS teams and UC platforms.
  • Knowledge of Firewalls, Proxy servers and VPN interactions with UC Platforms
  • PowerBi or Customer facing reporting experience.
  • Exchange On-Premises / Online Knowledge
  • SCOM or other systems management and monitoring tools
  • Related accreditation such as MCSE
  • Sound understanding of ITIL framework
