UK Tax Manager

We're seeking an experienced and knowledgeable UK Tax Manager to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with UK & Northern Ireland tax regulations and contributing to the development of effective tax strategies that optimise our global position.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of tax legislation, excellent analytical abilities, and the confidence to navigate complex tax matters. You'll also have the communication skills to translate detailed tax concepts into clear, practical guidance.

You'll work closely with our UK Chief Financial Officer and maintain a functional connection with the Global Tax Director at our headquarters in Spain. Regular collaboration with international tax teams across Customs, International, and Spanish Taxation will help ensure a consistent and aligned approach across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Planning & Advisory: Develop and implement tax-efficient structures and strategies for UK & NI operations covering direct and indirect taxes.
  • Compliance: Manage and review local and international tax filings to ensure full compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks while advising leadership on strategic tax management practices.
  • Transfer Pricing: Maintain and document UK transfer pricing policies, benchmarking studies, and compliance documentation.
  • Tax Audits & Disputes: Represent the company in communications and negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Customs Management: Oversee customs-related processes, ensuring data accuracy, smooth coordination between departments, and identification of process improvements.
  • Research & Analysis: Monitor UK & NI tax developments and assess their potential impact on business operations.
  • Collaboration: Partner with finance, legal, business units, and external advisors to ensure integrated tax support.
  • Continuous Development: Stay current with UK & NI and international tax trends, sharing insights and fostering best practices across the team.

About You

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. A master's degree in Taxation or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Experience in UK & NI tax and/or international tax advisory, with strong expertise in tax planning, compliance, and indirect taxes.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of transfer pricing rules, cross-border tax regulations, and customs processes.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Confident working independently and collaboratively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Languages: Fluency in English required; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
