UK Finance Manager

We're looking for a UK Finance Manager to join our Finance Control team. This role will ensure the overall integrity and accuracy of the UK & ROI reporting. Support budget owners with their financial reporting to enable better cost control. Support Finance Team on new business initiatives and continuous improvement projects that impact the team to ensure a high level of financial reporting within PizzaExpress.
What you'll be doing:
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial system and general ledger structure
- Full Month-end accounting close, along with commentary on variances and reports for monthly Board Packs. Reviewing/approving journal entries, ensuring that journal entries are properly supported. Account analysis and reconciliation.
- Budgeting and Forecasting. Reviewing site level budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Working with budget owners to create central budgets and forecasts that are aligned with business objectives. Budgeting and reconciliation of central salaries.
- Responsible for monitoring and analysing the applicable general ledger activity, ensuring team balance sheet reconciliations are performed and reconciling items are accounted for on a timely basis. Ensuring any risks or opportunities are reported to the financial control team, and ensuring actions taken to avoid these arising.
- Ensuring IFRS16 and other aspect of rent reporting is completed accurately. Reviewing and approving submissions for Group reporting. Reviewing rent cash control Balance Sheets and understanding how these are affected by IFRS16 lease changes
- Reporting to business budget holders, ensuring timely and accurate overheads reporting. Working with budget holders to identify risks & opportunities and enabling better cost control.
- Ensuring the financial aspect of music are completed by the Music Accountant (including reporting internally and externally, payments to suppliers completed and supporting the music team as needed)
- Direct and mentor reporting accountants. Provide training and guidance to effectively manage their responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. Work with FP&A director to define performance targets and objectives and monitor employee performance.
What you'll need:
- Qualification ACCA, ACA or similar
- Strong experience of monthly reporting for multiple cost centres
- Knowledge of IFRS16 accounting
- Proven results with structured problem solving and continuous improvement
- Focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of, and practical experience with internal controls
- Solid technical accounting experience
- Experience with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems
- Good organisation and time management skills in order to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, and willingness to liaise with different departments across the business - including non-financial teams
