Trust Manager - St Albans

Newstaff Employment is recruiting for an experienced Trust Manager to join a successful and well-established company based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of trusts, work closely with senior leaders, and play a key role in delivering high-quality client services.

Location St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary £55,000 - £70,000 per annum + excellent benefits
Working Hours Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (flexible office hours)
Job Type Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of UK resident and charitable trusts, ensuring compliance with annual accounts and tax deadlines
• Review work prepared by team members and provide training, support, and mentoring
• Assist with advisory and ad-hoc matters, including Inheritance Tax and high-level taxation advice
• Liaise with tax, accounts, and financial planning teams to deliver a joined-up client service
• Monitor budgets, manage chargeability, and raise fee notes
• Support on charitable trusts, probate work, and estate accounts, with opportunities to develop in these areas

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of trusts with proven trust management experience
• Experience in charitable trusts, probate, or estate accounts (advantageous)
• Knowledge of CCH Trust Accounts and CCH Personal Tax (desirable)
• CTA and/or STEP qualified, or working towards STEP qualification (preferred)
• Excellent communication, organisational, and mentoring skills
• Proactive, dependable, and resilient with a positive outlook
• Ability to quickly build trust and professional relationships
