Job Title: Trials Performance Analysis Engineer
Location: Portsmouth – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: Up to £50,000 dependent on experience
- Co-ordinate trials planning activities for complex systems, ensuring that a trial maximises the opportunity to demonstrate compliance with the requirements associated with the system
- Support trials execution, providing technical support at the forward area, and to liaise with the Customer and their representatives. This may include off-site visits both in the UK and potentially overseas
- Conduct analysis of trial data and produce performance assessments for the system under test.
- Conduct trial simulation and performance studies.
- Apply a breadth of knowledge, skills and experience of Systems Engineering and company approaches, techniques and governance to Trials and Performance Assessment and resolve engineering issues and problems for a range of products and engineering situations, compiling technical reports and accompanying presentations as required
- Support System and Sub-System Design Authorities in the identification of problems occurring during trials and to aid the investigation process
- Assist in the development of analysis tools in support of system performance assessment
Your skills and experiences:
- Higher education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline
- Understands engineering principles and approaches underpinning design and development activities and be capable of systems thinking, applying holistic approaches to complex problems
- Experience of presenting both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting
- Experience of multiple phases of an engineering lifecycle

Torpedo Trials Team:
The Torpedo Trials Team support trials for both the Spearfish heavyweight and Sting Ray lightweight torpedoes. As part of the trials team, you will be responsible for the conduct, development and assessment of trials throughout the torpedo lifecycle. The trial team fulfil an essential role at the trial forward area including liaising with the MoD, Royal Navy and other trial stakeholders. In addition to the UK, we also work with the Norwegian authorities in support of their Sting Ray trials
