Treasury Manager (6 months contract)

Location: UK-London Office - Hybrid working

Overview of the Role and Team

The Treasury team plays a crucial role in developing and implementing the company's Treasury strategy and managing financial risks. The team is responsible for the day-to-day management of all bank accounts across Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean region. We are looking for an experienced Treasury Manager to join the team to support in updating bank mandates/documents, help develop processes, and support the expansion of cash pooling in additional countries.

Under the leadership of the Head of Treasury, this role will have a Senior Treasury Accountant and a Treasury Assistant reporting to them and will be responsible for their development. You will work closely with the Head of Treasury to understand the business's short-term and long-term requirements to ensure the function is able to support the business appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage short-term liquidity by ensuring each bank account has sufficient funds to meet daily payment obligations. Track regularly scheduled payments and liaise with the Tax and Payroll teams as needed to ensure suppliers and financial commitments are met.
  • Manage the notional pools and complete the necessary forms to add additional entities to the pool structure.
  • Approve bid bond requests and ensure that expired bonds are removed from the facility.
  • Create a schedule to track all standing orders and direct debit payments.
  • Work with Finance colleagues to ensure loan documentation agreements are in place for all intercompany loans and, where relevant, interest is being calculated correctly and posted onto the accounting system.
  • Complete forms to open and close bank accounts or assist the Senior Treasury Accountant with questions. A good understanding of company structure is essential to ensure the forms are completed accurately.
  • Document and update bank mandates with the assistance of the Senior Treasury Accountant.
  • Liaise with finance teams to prepare cash forecasts and monthly financial reports for senior management.
  • Respond to queries and requests for information from auditors, external accountants, and employees throughout the UK and Europe to support the statutory reporting function.
  • Liaise with banking partners to resolve payment queries.
  • Attend bank meetings to enhance banking relationships and learn about new products and developments.
  • Support the line manager with ad hoc duties.

Skills and qualifications

  • You will be a hands-on treasury professional with experience of the core requirements of treasury, including but not limited to cash management, reporting, controls and forecasting, gained from within a FTSE250 or FTSE100 sized company.
  • Prior experience with notional cash pooling structures is essential.
  • You have an awareness of tax implications with cross boarder transfers.
  • Ability to clearly document process.
  • Good understanding of the general ledger.
  • Competency with Excel, Word and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent levels of accuracy with strong organisational skills.
  • You will be a natural team player who can interact easily with your colleagues and have strong communication skills.
  • Deadline orientated and able to prioritise.
