Grade: MContract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: 4 on 4 off. 0600 - 1800 with flexibility to work 1800 - 0600 when required.
Location: Daventry - NN6 7GW
DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Supporting the Transport Manager in providing a fully compliant operation, operational expertise, ensuring the transport operation is efficiently run within the agreed cost perimeters and ensuring a first class service is maintained to achieve the contracts objectives and meet the customers demands.
- Achievement of targets, deliveries on time, maintaining team morale, achievement of personal development objectives and remaining compliant
- To Manage, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of a team; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development.
- Monitor performance, timekeeping, overtime and sickness levels of forty drivers and two clerical staff
- Analyse reports against KPI targets and advise on action to improve results
- Ensure Management of driver's tachographs and working time directive are compliant to legislative requirements
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

- Previous and practical experience as a Transport Manager within a logistics environment
- Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages including Tachomaster and Microlaise
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage, organise and train direct reports
- Flexibility to work shift patterns
- Ensures that day-to-day operational activities are inline with customers specifications
- A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received
