DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily transportation and logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of storage and distribution procedures.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

The role of a Transport Operations Manager is accountable for the safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations on a day to day basis whilst supporting the Transport Manager.

• Be accountable for the safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations SLA's/KPI's
• Be responsible for ensuring system compliance at all times
• Conduct regular 1-2-1's and performance reviews
• Monitor and report on transportation costs, ensuring cost-effective shipping methods are a priority consideration
• Ensure all safety records, compliance and regulations are up-to-date and in line with company policies and legislation, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices
• Be the point of escalation for operational management

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Must have previous and demonstrative experience as a Transport Manager
• Must have previous transport legal compliance experience
• Understanding and practical knowledge of logistics software packages
• International CPC Qualification - desirable
• Previous experience with unions and proven experience of having strong union relationships and engagement
• Must have previous proven good stakeholder management
• Ability to manage, organise and train direct reports
